This Privacy Policy describes how Matter, Inc. and its subsidiaries and affiliates (“we,” “us,” and/or “our”) handle personal data we collect online when you access or use our website(s), or otherwise interact with us. This Privacy Policy explains the types of personal data we collect and process, how we may use and share the data, and the choices that are available to you with respect to our handling of your personal data.
INFORMATION WE COLLECT
Information we collect directly from you
We collect the following categories and specific types of information which you provide directly to us, such as when you open an account, make changes to your account, interact with our website(s), including but not limited to by placing an order, subscribing to receive emails, posting user-generated content, and/or contacting us, and/or interact with us or the featured brands on social media.
Identifying information
Contact information, including your name, email address, mailing address, phone number, and IP address.
Device information and other unique identifiers
Your device information, including your device identifier, cookies, beacons, pixel tags, or similar unique identifiers.
Internet or other electronic network activity information
Your browsing history, search history, and information regarding your interactions with our website(s), emails, or advertisements.
Geolocation data
Including information that permits us to determine your location.
Payment information
Billing information, such as your billing address and payment method, for orders placed through the website(s). Note that any credit card information used for processing of order payments is collected through our website(s) by our third-party payment processors.
Commercial information
Including the products you have expressed interest in, or purchased through the website(s);
Account information, such as your username, password, and order history; and
Any other information you choose to provide to us, such as user-generated content provided to us through the website(s) or in connection with requests to receive customer support.

We collect information about your use of the website(s), such as the products you buy or express interest in, and how you interact with the website(s).
Information we collect from other sources
We may collect information about you from other sources, including:
- Third-party marketing partners and advertising networks: to the extent that you receive email communications marketing our products or website(s), we collect information from third-party email marketing partners and advertising networks regarding whether you viewed the email communications, and clicked on any links within such communications.
- Third-party social media service: to the extent that you interact with us or the featured brands on social media, we will collect information about those interactions. The information we may collect includes your name and email address. Any information collected about you from the social network will be in accordance with your settings on the social network.
Information we collect by automated means
When you visit our website(s) and/or interact with our electronic communications, we collect certain information automatically. To collect this information, we may use cookies, web beacons, and similar technologies. A “cookie” is a text file that websites send to a visitor’s computer or other internet-connected device to uniquely identify the visitor’s browser or to store information or settings in the browser. A “web beacon,” also known as a pixel tag or clear GIF, is used to transmit information back to a web server. We may also collect information about your online activities over time and across third party websites. The information we collect automatically may include:
URLs that refer visitors to our website(s);
Search terms used to reach our website(s);
Details about the emails we send, such as opens, clicks, and unsubscribes;

ADVERTISING AND ANALYTICS SERVICES PROVIDED BY OTHERS
We may allow third-party marketing partners and advertising networks to serve advertisements on our behalf across the internet and in mobile applications. They may use cookies, web beacons, and other technologies to collect information about your use of the website(s), including your IP address, device ID, web browser, mobile network information, pages viewed, time spent on pages or in apps, links clicked, and conversion information. This information may be used by us and them to, among other things, analyze and track data, determine the popularity of content, deliver advertising and content targeted to your interests, and better understand your online activity. As part of these ad campaigns, we or third-party platforms may convert information about you, such as your email address, into a unique value that can be matched with a user account on these platforms to allow us to learn about your interests and to serve you advertising that is customized to your interests. Note that the third-party platforms may offer you choices about whether you see these types of customized ads.
HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION
We may use the information we collect for the following purposes:
- Maintain your account;
- Track use and interaction with the website(s), email communications, advertisements, and social media;
- Enable you to post user-generated content on the website(s) and on social media;
- Communicate with you about our website(s), including to market products and services that may be of interest to you;
- Process transactions for orders placed through the website(s);
- Fulfill and deliver the product orders placed through the website(s), perform our contractual obligations, and use as otherwise anticipated within the context of our ongoing business relationship;

WHO MAY HAVE ACCESS TO YOUR INFORMATION
We may use third-party service providers acting on our behalf to perform some of the services described above. For example, we share certain information with third-party service providers who assist with the processing of credit cards and payments, hosting and managing our data, distributing emails, sending marketing communications (including via email, SMS, and telephone), conducting research and analytics, advertising, analytics, or administering certain services and features. We also may share information about you with our professional advisors, including accountants, auditors, lawyers, insurers and bankers, if needed. These third-party service providers may change over time, but we will require them to take appropriate security measures to protect your personal information in line with our policies. We only permit them to process your personal information for specified purposes and, as appropriate, in accordance with our instructions and the provisions of this Privacy Policy and applicable law.
We may also share your email address and phone number with the third-party brands that are featured on the website(s), for their own marketing purposes.
In certain limited circumstances, we share and/or are obligated to share your personal information with other third parties, including (a) to comply with our obligations, to protect our rights and property, our customers and the public, to cooperate with law enforcement investigations, and to detect and respond to suspected illegal activity and threats to the health or safety or any person or of our systems or services; (b) in connection with, or during negotiations of, any merger, joint venture, sale of company assets, financing, or acquisition of all or a portion of our business, assets or stock by another company (including in connection with any bankruptcy or similar proceedings); and/or (c) with your consent and at your direction.
To the extent that you post user-generated content on the website(s), that content may be publicly posted. Other users may be able to see your name or other information about you that you post. In certain instances, we may also share aggregated or de-identified information that cannot reasonably be used by those third parties to identify you.
YOUR RIGHTS AND CHOICES
Managing or deactivating your account
To the extent that you have an account, you may review, update, or modify your account information at any time by logging into your account. You may also deactivate your account by emailing us at velocity@mttr.ca.
Opting out of email marketing
You may unsubscribe from our promotional emails at any time by following the instructions included in those emails. If you opt out of receiving such communications, note that we may continue to send you non-promotional emails regarding your account and/or orders (such as order confirmation emails or emails about changes to our legal terms).
Restricting cookies
Most web browsers are set to accept cookies by default. You can usually choose to set your browser to remove or reject browser cookies. Please note that if you choose to remove or reject cookies, this could affect the availability and functionality of our website(s).
Phone and SMS/Text Communications
With your prior express written consent collected on our website(s), we and our agents, representatives, marketing partners, and the featured third-party brands on the website(s), may contact you by telephone (including via SMS/text), regarding your orders (including updates regarding shipment and delivery), and promotions at the phone number you provide during your placement of an order on our website(s), even if your cell phone number is listed on a Do Not Call registry. You represent that you are the account holder for the telephone number that you provide. You agree that such contact may be made using an automatic telephone dialing system (text message and data rates may apply). Message frequency may vary. Your consent to be contacted in this manner is not a condition of purchase. You may opt out at any time from receiving SMS/text messages by responding “STOP”. You may opt out at any time from receiving telephone calls by contacting us.
CHILDREN
Our website(s) are not designed or intended for children. If you have reason to believe that a child has provided personal data to us, please contact us.
CALIFORNIA PRIVACY RIGHTS
This section is specific and applies only to California residents, under the meaning of Section 17014 of Title 18 of the Cal. Code of Regulations.
Under the “Shine the Light Law” (Cal. Civ. Code § 1798.83), California residents have the right to receive, once a year, information about third parties with whom we have shared personal information about you or your family for direct marketing purposes during the previous calendar year, and a list of the categories of personal information shared. California residents may request further information about our compliance with this law by sending us an email at velocity@mttr.ca. Please note that we are only required to respond to one request per customer each year, and we are not required to respond to requests made by means other than through this email address.
Under the California Consumer Privacy Act of 2018 (“CCPA”), up to twice in a twelve (12) month period, a consumer has the right to request that a business disclose what personal information it collects, uses, discloses, and sells. Information regarding our collection, disclosure, and sale practices are detailed below, in addition to instructions on how to exercise your rights regarding your personal information.

We collect the above personal information directly from you via the website(s) and from your interactions with the website(s), including from cookies and tracking pixels (also known as web beacons, 1x1 pixels, or clear GIFs) on the website. A cookie is a small data text file, which is stored on your computer's hard drive (if your web browser permits) that can later be retrieved to identify you to us. Tracking pixels are code requiring a call back to a server to render, and which deliver information to us about your IP address and information from your browser. Cookies make your use of the website(s) easier, make the website(s) run more smoothly, and help us to maintain secure website(s). Cookies and tracking pixels may collect information about you, such as the referring website address, your IP address, your browser type and version, your Internet service provider, the area code, and zip code associated with your server, the date and time of your visit, and the time spent on the website(s). Cookies and tracking pixels are used to track your interaction with the website(s), including clicks.
We also collect personal information from you through your clicks on the website(s), including whether you indicated a need for a particular featured product, and all personal information that you have submitted through the website(s) in conjunction with your request.
To the extent that you purchase products through the website(s), your name, email address, payment method, billing address, mailing address, phone number, and related shipping information will also be collected.
To the extent that you provide us with your express written consent to be contacted by telephone (including SMS/text), your phone number will be collected.
To the extent that you receive electronic communications from us such as our email newsletters and/or email updates, we also collect information on whether you viewed the email communications, and clicked on any links within such communications.
What Personal Information Do We Disclose?
Within the preceding 12 months, we have disclosed the following categories of personal information to our third-party product supplier, whom we facilitate orders for through this website, third-party marketing partners and advertising networks, third-party email service providers, and third-party payment processors:
- Identifiers, or information that identifies, relates to, describes, or is capable of being associated with, a particular individual; and
- Information that identifies, relates to, describes, or is capable of being associated with, a particular individual.
We also disclose personal information personal information in the commercial information category to our third-party product supplier, whom we facilitate orders for through the website(s) and third-party email service providers.
We may also disclose your personal information if legally required to do so, or at our discretion, pursuant to a request from a governmental entity, or if we believe in good faith that such action is necessary to (a) conform to legal requirements or comply with legal process; (b) protect our rights or property, or our affiliated companies; (c) prevent a crime or protect national security; or (d) protect the personal safety of users or the public. Also, in the event that we, or substantially all of our assets, are acquired, such personal information may be included within the transferred assets. In the event we become the subject of an insolvency proceeding, whether voluntary or involuntary, we or our liquidator, administrator, receiver or administrative receiver may sell, license or otherwise dispose of, such information in a transaction approved by the court.
What Personal Information Do We Sell?
Under the definitions of “Sell” and “Sale” in the CCPA, we do not sell your personal information. We do not have any actual knowledge of the sale of personal information of minors under 16 years of age. There are no financial incentives to disclose.
However, in the event that we, or substantially all of our assets, are acquired, such personal information may be included within the transferred assets. In the event we become the subject of an insolvency proceeding, whether voluntary or involuntary, we or our liquidator, administrator, receiver or administrative receiver may sell, license or otherwise dispose of, such information in a transaction approved by the court.
Your Right to Request to Know and How to Submit a Verified Request to Know
A “request to know” is a request related to the personal information that a business has about such consumer. It may include a request for any or all of the following from us:
- specific pieces of personal information that we have collected about you;
- categories of personal information that we have collected about you;
- categories of sources from which the personal information was collected;
- categories of personal information that we have sold or disclosed for a business purpose about you;
- categories of third parties to whom the personal information was sold or disclosed for a business purpose; and
- the business or commercial purpose for collecting or selling personal information.
The CCPA permits requests to know from the same consumer up to twice in a twelve (12) month period.

To process your request, we may require that you submit the following information in conjunction with your request: your first name, last name, a California address, and email address. The information which you provide will be used to verify your request and to attempt to identify you within our data records. If you elect to use an authorized agent to exercise your right to submit a request for information, we may require the following before processing the request: 1) provide proof of your written and signed permission with the authorized agent to act on your behalf; 2) directly verify your own identity with us; and 3) directly confirm with us that you provided the authorized agent permission to submit the request on your behalf. The information which you submit in conjunction with your request to know will be used for the express purposes of verification and providing you with responsive information to your request, if required.
Your Right to Request Deletion and How to Submit a Verified Request to Delete
You have the right to request the deletion of any personal information which we have collected about you, or which we maintain. To process your request, we may require that you submit the following information in conjunction with your request: your first name, last name, a California address, and email address. The information which you provide will be used to verify your request and to attempt to identify you within our data records. If you elect to use an authorized agent to exercise your right to submit a request for deletion, we may require the following before processing the request: 1) provide proof of your written and signed permission with the authorized agent to act on your behalf; 2) directly verify your own identity with us; and 3) directly confirm with us that you provided the authorized agent permission to submit the request on your behalf. The information which you submit in conjunction with your request to delete will be used for the express purposes of verification and providing you with responsive information to your request, if required.
We utilize a two-step process for online requests to delete, whereby you first submit your request to delete, and second, you separately confirm that you want your personal information deleted.
To the extent that your personal information is necessary for us to maintain for a reason delineated in Cal. Civ. Code § 1798.105(d), including but not limited to complete a transaction for which the personal information was collected, provide a good or service you have requested, detect security incidents, protect against malicious, deceptive, fraudulent, or illegal activity, debug, etc., or to comply with a legal obligation, we are not required to comply with your request for deletion. For instance, we are not required to delete personal information which is necessary to maintain suppression files for those individuals who have opted out of receiving email marketing from us. If we are unable to verify your request, we will notify you as well. If you request to delete your personal data, certain of our products and services may no longer be available to you.
Your Right to Non-Discrimination for the Exercise of Your Privacy Rights
California affords consumers with the right not to receive discriminatory treatment by a business for the exercise of their privacy rights conferred by the CCPA. This means that you cannot be denied goods or services; be charged different prices or rates; be provided with a different level or quality of goods or services; or have it suggested that you will receive a different price or rate or different level or quality of goods or services. However, a business may offer a financial incentive or price or service difference if it is reasonably related to the value of the consumer’s data. A business shall notify consumers of any financial incentive or price or service difference.
NEVADA RESIDENTS
Under the definition of “Sale” in the Nevada Revised Statutes, we do not sell your covered/personal information.
LINKS TO OTHER WEBSITES AND THIRD-PARTY CONTENT
We may provide links to third-party websites, services, plug-ins and applications, such as Facebook and Google, that are not operated or controlled by us. This Privacy Policy does not apply to such third-party services, and we cannot take responsibility for the content, privacy policies, or practices of third-party services. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party services before providing any information to or through them.
Our website(s) may incorporate social sharing features and other integrated tools (such as the Facebook “Like” or “Share” button or the Twitter “Tweet” button) which let you share actions you take on our website(s) with other media. Your use of such features enables the sharing of information with your friends or the public, depending on the settings you establish with the entity that provides the social sharing feature. For more information about the purpose and scope of data collection and processing in connection with social sharing features, please visit the privacy policies of the entities that provide these features.
DATA RETENTION
Our retention periods for personal data are based on business needs and legal requirements. We retain personal data for as long as is necessary for the processing purpose(s) for which the data was collected, and any other permissible, related purpose. For example, we may retain certain transaction details and correspondence until the time limit for claims arising from the transaction has expired. When we no longer need to use your personal data, it is removed from our systems and records or anonymized so that you can no longer be identified from it.
CHANGES TO OUR PRIVACY POLICY
We may change this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we do so, we will post the updated policy on our sites and will indicate when the Privacy Policy was last revised. You should periodically review our current Privacy Policy to stay informed of our personal data practices.
