I was able to test out three products in their Anti-Aging Essential Pack. This included their Aloe Herb Facial Cream Cleanser, Anti-Aging Hydrating Serum, and Anti-Aging Facial Oil.

Adopting an entirely new skincare routine at once was a first for me. I tried this over the course of three months to understand how it would impact my skin and daily routine.

I immediately noticed the quality of the packaging. Right away I noticed that the packaging was eco-friendly and recyclable materials which I LOVE. I later found out that Annmarie uses MIRON violet glass, which I read on Annmaries site: "energizes the organic molecules of the product by filtering in a small percentage of light, while protecting it from the harmful rays of the light spectrum". I had no prior knowledge on this type of packaging. So cool!

Best of all, every single ingredient is packed full of natural goodness. They have a handy ingredient glossary to see their scientific benefits and source. Most products have a short and simple video and written tutorials on how to use their products.

Using Annmarie’s Aloe Herb Facial Cream Cleanser is like having a private botanical spa in your own home. The subtle scent of calendula, lemons, coconut and aloe was light and refreshing on my skin.

I used this like I would most cleansers. I dampened my face, used 1-2 pumps, gently massaged into my skin, rinsed and pat dry, using morning and night. I find drugstore cleansers tend to make my skin feel tight but I didn't have an issue with Annmarie. This cleanser is pH balance, so it's super gentle while still being effective at removing my makeup and impurities.

Worthy tip: gently use a face brush to get a deeper exfoliation once per week.

The formulation includes beautifying herbs and a light blend of natural oils with essential fatty acids. A unique ingredient in Annmarie’s Aloe Herb Facial Cream is neem. Neem stems from a lengthy Ayurvedic tradition of healing remedies: it purifies much of what it touches. After about a week of using the cleanser it became my meditative practice. I could tell I was being kind to my skin.

Annmarie’s Anti-Aging Hydrating Serum is used to firm, tighten and hydrate your skin. It's made with hyaluronic acid - a substance that hydrates the skin by helping it retain moisture. Herbal extracts buddleja davidii and edelweiss protect your skin from environmental stressors. I used to slather my face in moisturizer thinking more was more - but I found that unnecessary with Annmarie’s products. A small amount went a long way making it good value for the price.

I applied this after serum after cleansing and drying my face by dabbing gently on my forehead, nose, chin and cheeks. I experienced cystic acne as a teenager and still have remnants of scarring and discoloration. I found this serum has really helped my skin retain moisture and look plumper - making my pores and fine lines less noticeable.

The Anti-Aging Serum had a subtle scent that's earthy, spicy, with a hint of rose and luxury. My husband has a very sensitive nose, which limits what products we use. This didn't bother him one bit, even after using right before bed.

Facial oil - where have you been all my life? In my years of aimlessly browsing beauty aisles, I'm quickly overwhelmed by the sheer number of skincare brands. To be honest, I was a uncertain about using a facial oil at first.

The Anti-Aging Facial Oil is light and non-greasy. It absorbs into the skin quickly unlike other cream moisturizers. It immediately gave me a natural dewy glow my drawer full of highlighters could not achieve.

The scent is clean, fresh and pleasant. Not overpowering in the slightest. It's also PACKED with superfood ingredients, such as jojoba oil, goji berries, chia seed oil and plantago.

Plantago has been a long time natural remedy to calm poison ivy. It can minimize the appearance of pores and fade the look of under eye circles. I found this oil to be particularly helpful if I had a few glasses of wine the night before or failed to get a good night’s sleep. The best part? I have lines across my forehead that my foundation likes to settle in; I found this was drastically reduced when using the Anti-Aging Facial Oil.

The Bottom Line

I have had a total revelation. For years I have been trying to cover up my skin, rather than mend and protect it. I used to favour “youthful” and “dewy” makeup to mask my problems. But focusing on skincare has shown me how addressing a problem will always be better than hiding it.

I’m not sure if it was a specific product, or a combination of the three, but my skin looked like I just came back from a relaxing vacation after a few weeks.
